Happy 4th of July!

04 July 2013

Happy Independence Day!!
We are a little late to the party on this, but it's still the 4th of July, so we made it! We hope that you have had a wonderful day and got to spend it with family. John had to work today, but I got to spend the day with my sweet girl and we went up to CFA to see Daddy at lunch. Tonight we went to a friend's house and grilled out, having an all-American meal (burgers, corn on the cob, sweet potato fries, salad and watermelon). Yum!
Karis has been decked out in red, white, and blue all week. We've been going for theme week, but I thought I would share the outfit I made her just for the 4th today. My mom got these shorts from a Just Ducky warehouse sale in Asheville several months ago and we didn't have anything that really went with them. So, they were the design base for the shirt I made for her.
I just did a simple 4th of July letter K applique, using a red seersucker to match the shorts. I think it turned out to be a pretty cute outfit...and is certainly festive. These shorts are going to fit for a long time (they are super rolled up), so we will have to make more to match them in the future.

Anyway, just wanted to wish you a happy day from this sweet face!
