Baby's the size of a pumpkin!
Pregnancy Highlights:

Maternity Clothes: Yes
Gender: It's a BOY!! Jack Cameron Williamson
Movement: He is still quite active, but his movements are different because he has less room.
Sleep: Not getting too much these days. I take it when I can get it. Just my body getting ready for a newborn. :)
What I Miss: Sleeping on my back.
Cravings: Back to sweets again lately. Boo.
Symptoms: Just big. :)
Best Moment This Week: Knowing we are getting closer to meeting our sweet boy with each passing day.
It's getting closer, folks! Jack will be here soon...ish. The question of the year - when?!? Ha! If only we knew.
Things are moving along just fine. I had my 38-week appointment on Monday. I've been feeling very discouraged and anxious lately (more about all the circumstances in our life than having a baby...that's another post for another day though). My doctor was awesome and very encouraging. She is very supportive of our attempt at a VBAC. Now, we just need Jack to get on board with the plan. :)
The thing about a VBAC is that it's all or nothing. I have to go in to labor on my own and progress, on my own, or we are stuck with a repeat c-section. Because of the risk of uterine rupture drugs such as Pitocin or Cervadil cannot be used to help move things along. I know the risks and I don't want the intervention of these drugs anyway, just to keep things as safe as possible.
I'm hopeful that because I went in to labor on my own with Karis and progressed on my own to be completely effaced and 7-8cm without help from any kind of drugs, that it will be possible again. The other contingency is that my doctors really don't want me to go late, as they don't want him getting too big before a VBAC. Trust me, I'm totally on board with this part, as I would like him to not be late too. We are going to have an ultrasound next week at my 39-week appointment to see how big he is, then we can determine if we can continue with this plan or need to make a back-up plan. Ahh! There are so many factors to consider! It's funny that my desire for him to come soon has nothing to do with being over this pregnancy or just miserable...it's totally about our life circumstances.
So, we are praying that labor starts on it's own and progresses well without drug intervention so that we can have a successful VBAC. We are also praying that this happens before we reach 40 weeks. At the end of the day the only thing that matters is that Jack remains healthy. (By the way, I'm totally not on board with this hospital's policies regarding c-sections, so I really don't want that to happen.)
Anyway, since we are drawing near to the end, I thought we would take a look back over the 3rd trimester.
