Symptoms: Just big. :)
Best Moment This Week: We are officially full term!
Yes, we are officially full-term with this pregnancy! This means that even if Jack came right now, he would be happy, healthy, and fine. This is good news, although we don't really expect to meet him for a couple weeks.
Things are going about how they have been lately, no significant changes. My hands have felt swollen for the past day or two. I finally stopped wearing my wedding ring the other day. (This is MUCH longer than I wore them with Karis.) Tonight I also have swelling, albeit minor, in my ankles and feet. Again, nothing compared to Karis. I was SO swollen with her, for months I think.
So, the real question of the hour, the one that I get asked multiple times a day...any progress yet? The answer - no. No dilating, no effacement yet. While I feel like Jack has dropped, he's not engaged or sitting very low according to the doctor. I'm feeling a ton of pressure, but she said that's normal. I was 1cm with Karis starting at 36 weeks, so I don't like that nothing has happened yet. But, according to the dr. you start earlier with the first baby and it takes a lot longer for anything to happen. When it's your second, dilation/effacement doesn't start until later on, but it goes much faster when it happens. I guess we will see if this rings true for me.
The number two most popular question - are we ready?! Basically, yes.
I've washed all of Jack's clothes, burp cloths, blankets, etc. (at least the ones for the first little bit). I spent a couple hours detailing the van the other day. It's SO clean, I have to say I'm a little proud of myself. But, I wanted to get it all clean without car seats in it. I also gave Karis' car seat a good cleaning and scrub, plus Jack's car seat is all cleaned and the base is installed in the van. I still have a few things on my list that I'm trying to work through. But, we are getting there...and it's getting closer to the day that we meet our sweet Baby Boy!
