Baby's the size of a honeydew!
He's getting closer and closer to being able to breathe on his own. His skin is getting smooth and soft and his gums are rigid. His liver and kidneys are in working order; circulation and immune systems are basically good to go, too.
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 36 Weeks
Size of Baby: Honeydew
Maternity Clothes: Yes
Gender: It's a BOY!! Jack Cameron Williamson
Movement: He is quite an active little boy!
Sleep: We are in a new bed that is super soft with a pillow-top mattress. John can't stand it, it's too soft for him. In my normal, non-pregnant life, I would probably love it, but being huge it's even more difficult to turn from one side to the other in such a soft bed.
What I Miss: Sleeping on my back.
Cravings: Not too much lately.
Symptoms: Just big. :)
Best Moment This Week: We are settled (basically) in the condo that we will bring Baby Jack home for the first time. Yay! Also...it's July! Woo hoo!
Well, folks, it's officially here...we are in the birth month. Woo hoo!!
We've got 4 weeks to go until the big d-date. Now, I've already heard some pessimism about Jack not actually coming this month. Let me just say, this is an optimism-only zone. We are very hopeful that he makes it in July. I was absolutely certain that Karis was going to come late, but I am absolutely hopeful that Jack is not. I have no crazy dreams that he will be super early, I am just hoping for a smidge bit. :)
I still have a pretty good list of things I want to get done before he makes his debut, so it's going to be a busy month. Plus, I need to get as much time in at the beach and pool with Karis before Jack arrives since I will then be in a no-pool-or-ocean-allowed window for the following 6 weeks. Boo.
I went to the dr the other day and things are still looking pretty good. She thinks he's not very big...5-5.5lbs right now. Her prediction is if he goes 4 more weeks that he will be 7-7.5lbs at birth. That would be smaller than Karis, so we'll see. Interesting. In some ways this makes me feel good, since I'm trying for a VBAC, a smaller baby would be fine by me. But, then I look at my HUGE belly and think, if he's not that big...then that means I'm that big. Ahh. Anyway, time will tell.
