27 and 28 Weeks

02 June 2011

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 27 and 28 Weeks
Size of baby: Eggplant
Maternity Clothes: Maternity pants, but other than that everything else is normal.
Gender: It's a baby GIRL!!! Karis Ansleigh Williamson
Movement: Yes...stronger everyday.
Sleep: Been pretty good the last couple weeks...just have to get up for the bathroom each night.
What I Miss
: Sleeping on my back...and it's uncomfortable to pick things up off the floor. :)
Cravings: Nothing really.
Symptoms: Feeling good!
Best Moment this Week: Yesterday I had a doctor's appointment and got to hear her heart beat again. That's a regular part of my visits now, but it's still so cool to hear her.

Baby's now the size of an eggplant!
Baby's lungs are mature enough that, if born right now, she has a pretty good chance of surviving (with help from medical technology). Her skin is still pretty wrinkly (one byproduct of living in amniotic fluid) but will smoothen as fat continues to deposit.

So, many apologies for not posting at all last week and for being so behind this week. For the most part our problem has been that we have had major internet problems lately. We had lots of family this past weekend and this week has been crazy....so I'm trying to lump it all in today. Today, we also had a guy from Charter come out, bring us a new modem and run a whole new wire so that we can have the modem and router coming from the guest room and not stuck under Karis' crib. So, we are hopeful that the internet problems have been resolved now.

Like I mentioned earlier, I had dr. appointment yesterday. She thinks we are looking really good and Karis is growing right on schedule. That was my last visit every 4 weeks...now I will be going every 2 weeks until the last little bit, when I will go every week. As you may remember our doctor is moving to NY at the end of the month. Yesterday I told her who I would like to have my new doctor changed to, Dr. Garbarino. She was the one I saw when we miscarried last year...I also keep running in to her lately, and I really like her. So in two weeks I will see Dr. Garbarino...then the last week in June I will have one last appointment with Dr. Harrington before she leaves.

We got a lot done on the nursery this past weekend while John's family was here...I will take pictures and post them soon. This weekend is going to be super busy, so it may not be for a few days. Sorry I don't have anything more exciting to post...but now you are up to speed. :)
