24 Weeks

03 May 2011

Baby's now the size of a papaya!
Baby's skin is becoming more opaque as the fat starts to pack on. And, thanks to the formation of small capillaries, her newly thick skin is taking on a fresh pink glow.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 24 Weeks
Size of baby: Papaya
Total Weight Gain: 14 lbs. (honestly, I'm not sure, I haven't been weighing lately)
Maternity Clothes: Maternity pants, but other than that everything else is normal.
Gender: It's a baby GIRL!!! Karis Ansleigh Williamson
Movement: I feel her more everyday!
Sleep: I think I'm just about used to sleeping on my side. It's definitely becoming more natural.
What I Miss
: Sleeping on my back...and it's becoming more uncomfortable to pick things up off the floor. :)
Cravings: Nothing really.
Symptoms: I still get tired, but overall I am feeling really good.
Best Moment this Week: I got to see Karis again on Friday...we had to do another quick ultrasound. It's so fun to see her move all around!

There was not a problem that caused us to have another ultrasound. When we had ours at 20 weeks, they didn't get a good picture of her kidneys. Our Dr. wanted to be very thorough and get a picture of her kidneys, so on Friday I had a quick ultrasound again. And, in case you're curious, her kidneys look good. Also, in case you were curious, like I was...she is still in fact a girl. I made sure to have the ultrasound tech check again. I hear horror stories about people thinking their baby was a girl, then it turns out to be a boy or vice versa. So, she's still a girl. Yay!

I'm sorry I'm late on the update again this week. Yesterday John and I got off work a little early then went and did our baby registries...we didn't get home until late last night. I also meant to update again last week...but between a couple of late nights at work and we had two nights last week where our internet was down at the house, that didn't happen. I have much to share with you. For instance, I haven't given you any meaning behind Karis' name...which I plan on doing. But, that will have to wait too. Tonight, I have something else to share...

Today, is my beloved's birthday...which makes it a very special day for me. My sweet and loving husband, the father of our precious baby girl, my best friend, my most favorite person, the man I love more than anything else in this world...John Cameron Williamson. Sweet Bubba, I love you so dearly and wish you all the happiness in the world. I couldn't imagine doing life with anyone else and count myself blessed beyond measure that you are forever mine. I can hardly wait to meet our sweet baby girl and hope she looks like you. You are going to be the most fabulous father and I can hardly wait for our journey as parents to begin...for real. :) Happy Birthday!

  1. Okay, I'm crying now. When John was little, our most earnest prayer for our sweet boy was that he would grow into a Godly man and marry a Godly woman to spend his life with. God answered that prayer so abundantly and now the blessing continues with Karis Ansleigh :).
