Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies respond best to tastes they've already had via amniotic fluid.

Best Moment this Week: Getting to see our baby girl on the ultrasound...and feeling her move! It's been such a good week!
I totally forgot to take my ultrasound pics to work today. It's pregnancy brain. :) All morning while I was getting ready for work I kept thinking, "don't forget baby girl's pictures." Somehow between then and the time I walked out the door, I forgot. So it just gives me another excuse to post again this week. At least you got to see her a little though.

The other day at work someone tried to trick me with a question. He asked if I believed in love at first sight, to which I responded, "no." (For the record, this wasn't someone trying a cheesy pick-up line who didn't realize I'm married and knocked up :) Apparently this question had been a brain teaser or something on the early morning news that day.) Back to the story...he said, just wait until you see your baby. To which I responded, "I still say no and I stand by that." I do stand by that. I am so overwhelmed by how much I am in love with this sweet baby girl. This baby girl that I have never held, that I have never seen without the help of an ultrasound. I am just so in love with her. Furthermore, I grow more in love with her every day. It's the little things that just melt me...when I can feel her moving around; as I watch my belly grow, knowing that it is her little body that is growing bigger and stronger everyday; oh, and being able to watch her on the screen kick and move around...watching as she was shy and turned away or as she put her hands on her face or yawned. It is just absolutely the greatest miracle in the world and we couldn't be happier. Knowing that we had to wait longer than we planned and that we had to walk a long and challenging road to get to this point only makes it sweeter. I absolutely believe with everything in me that this is the baby that God created for me and John...at this time.
I am working diligently on finding fabrics for the nursery. I went to one more fabric store today after work and didn't find anything for the nursery, but I did buy baby girl her first fabrics for a dress this fall. It's gonna be so cute!

I love to read about your love for your baby girl. Now you can imagine the love I have always had for you, sweet girl.
