17 Weeks

16 March 2011

Baby's now the size of an onion!
Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. His umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes now feature one-of-a-kind prints.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 17 Weeks
Size of baby: Onion
Total Weight Gain: 6 lbs.
Maternity Clothes: I have just started to wear maternity pants a little bit. My normal clothes still fit fine, it's just so much more comfortable to have an elastic waist. :)
Gender: We find out April 1!
Movement: Not yet.
Sleep: I'm getting more used to not being able to sleep on my back. I've got a wedge pillow that I keep behind me that helps me to not get flat on it, but it's still a process.
What I Miss
: Sleeping on my back.
Cravings: Nothing really...definitely not anything weird though.
Symptoms: I still get tired, but overall I am feeling much better. Occasionally I have reflux.
Best Moment this Week: John and I got off work early on Monday and went to Babies r' Us together to start looking at strollers, car seats, etc. It was a fun time spent planning for our little one together.

I'm sorry I'm a couple days late this week. The last two nights have been late and I haven't really been on the computer. One more thing, I tried to take a picture of myself, since it seems as though my belly popped out this weekend. John is working late tonight, so I had to keep setting a timer and running for a picture. Needless to say, it was not an easy task. I finally decided to give up and just show you a picture where my head is cut off...but you get the idea. :)
So there you have it, my 17 week baby bump. It doesn't look as big in the picture as I feel like it is...but I guess that's the way it goes. Over the next few weeks I will have John take the pictures they are better. Until next time...
