10 Weeks

29 January 2011

I debated all week when to put up the post about being 10 weeks. Should I have done it on Monday when we thought we were 10 weeks? Or just yesterday, which is what the nurse said? Either way I missed both deadlines because I debated it too long. Suffice it to say, we have definitely reached the 10 week mark. This means Baby Williamson is the size of a prune. With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks, and arm joints are now working. (Soon, legs will start working too.)

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 10 Weeks
Size of baby: Prune
Total Weight Gain/Loss: None
Cravings: Nothing crazy, but not my 'typical diet.' Mostly I'm eating whatever actually sounds good and that stays down...tends to be a lot of carbs.
Symptoms: Still really tired a lot of the time. Nausea and indigestion are most all day almost everyday. Occasionally I am still 'getting sick.'

Our first ultrasound is this Thursday. I am, without question, 100% terrified about this and 100% overjoyed and excited. I've still got PTSD from the last time I went in for an ultrasound, which is why I am terrified. However, I cannot wait to see our sweet baby on a screen. I hope with everything in me that this shows our little one to be healthy and safe. Everyday I find I have new thoughts and insights as we walk this journey, and I'd really like to share them...it just seems like a different post. So, for now you just get our 10 week update.
Until next time...
